Avenham & Others

Posted on Friday, January 30th, 2009 in Photography | No Comments »

Just some old photographs from my little trip to Avenham with my Holga. Managed to run out of film, so shot some Digital.

Tried HDR with this one. I’m out of practice, and the lens is weak, so it’s mediocre.

This was exposure blended, gives a much smoother and less nosier out-come than HDR. Less advanced and less tweaking too, though – so it’s limited in what it can do.

Quick lunch with Olivia, which was nice.

Waiting for lecture with Greta. Which was eventful. Just rating really ugly people on some stupid hot-or-not application I found on my iPhone.

Avenham Park

I love this park. It has an aura that is unsurpassed anywhere else in Preston. A feeling of history and feeling of personality. I can never get over it. More surprisingly, I found a side to Avenham that I hadn’t even seen before! Completely unwitnessed by me. I couldn’t believe it – and the best bit, is it’s gorgeous!

It looks like dust, it ain’t. It’s birdies.

The Pub

The Pub is fantastic. The characters you meet, the personalities they hold. Their quirks and their opinions. It makes me feel happy blessed to meet them. Whether sweet or sour, these people always have something to share, and always something to learn from.

I only posted this for the sheer sharpness that cheap-ass 50mm f/1.8 lens can achieve at f5.6

And of course, Ruby. I love you, you little terror.

Train Journey

There’s something about train journeys that I find endearing. I think it’s the quiet objectivity that everyone has when sat on one. But I feel they’re far more interesting when empty.
